Metallica Show at Sprint Center is One for the Record Books

Kansas City, Mo. (March. 6, 2019)– With more than 19,646 fans attending Metallica’s World Wired Tour stop in Kansas City, Mo., Sprint Center set a new record for the largest single ticket event in the history of the venue. Sprint Center, Kansas City’s award winning downtown landmark, has welcomed nearly 12 million guests since opening in Oct. 2007. The previous record was held by George Strait who welcomed more than 19,533 on March 3, 2012.


“Kansas City is fortunate to have hosted first class artists and diverse entertainers from across the globe and the energy in Sprint Center tonight was absolutely electric,” said Brenda Tinnen, Sprint Center General Manager and Senior Vice President. “Having hosted Metallica for the second time in venue history, witnessing a new concert attendance record is extraordinary. We are thankful to Metallica, the crew, FPC Live, NS2 and Q-Prime Management for sharing an incredible night with passionate fans from throughout the Midwest at Sprint Center."
