Sprint Center Selected to Host the 2018 NCAA Women's Basketball Regional
Kansas City, Mo. (Nov. 20, 2014) – The Division I Women’s Basketball Committee has named nine cities for the preliminary rounds of the 2016-18 championships as regional hosts. Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., which last hosted a women’s regional round in 2010, will host a Division I Women’s Regional for the second time in 2018. Kansas City previously hosted the Women’s Final Four in 1998 and regional action in 2000 and 2005.
“Sprint Center is pleased to again welcome the 2018 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional in 2018,” said Brenda Tinnen, Sprint Center General Manager and Senior Vice President. “The Big 12 Conference, Kansas City Sports Commission, Visit KC and the City of Kansas City eagerly anticipate hosting memorable basketball action on the road to the Final Four.”
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of Sprint Center’s designation as a host venue for the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional.
