Sprint Center Ranks Tenth in 2014 Pollstar Mid-Year Report

July 15, 2014 (Kansas City, Mo.) –In Pollstar Magazine’s recently released Mid-Year Report, Sprint Center ranks tenth in the United States and 36th among all worldwide venues. This marks the 10th consecutive top 10 ranking for the iconic venue located in downtown Kansas City.

"Sprint Center’s top 10 ranking among United States arenas is truly remarkable for Kansas City and the region,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City/Sprint Center general manager and senior vice president. “From George Strait to Cher, 2014 has provided fantastic live entertainment alternatives. This exciting news certainly sets the stage for tomorrow’s sold-out Paul McCartney concert.”

As of June 30, Sprint Center hosted more than a dozen of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours including: George Strait, Cher, WWE and Kings of Leon. In addition, Kansas City’s award winning venue will close out the summer schedule by welcoming Paul McCartney (July 16), Justin Timberlake (July 30 & 31), Motley Crue (Aug. 3), Miley Cyrus (Aug. 12), Rod Stewart & Santana (Aug. 14) and Katy Perry (Aug. 19). Pollstar maintains an extensive database and collects box office reports from nearly 100 percent of the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues. The rankings are based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2014.
