One Direction 2013 World Tour
One Direction visits Kansas City for the first time with a stop at Sprint Center on July 19 to the delight of their passionate fan base. "Our fans are simply the best in the world. The support they have shown us has been incredible and we're all so grateful to each and every one of them." said Niall Horan.
One Direction gained notoriety in 2010 after appearing on the X-Factor UK. One Direction are Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. All of the group hail from the U.K., save for Horan, who is from Ireland. All five of the boys (ages 18-20) auditioned for the UK X Factor in 2010 as solo artists. However, at the suggestion of Simon Cowell they joined forces as a group, quickly becoming one of the competitions most popular acts of all time, finishing in the final three and garnering a gigantic fan-base along the way. Their global smash debut album, Up All Night, entered the charts at #1 in 14 countries and has been certified triple platinum in Ireland, double platinum in the UK & Australia, and platinum in New Zealand.
In anticipation of large crowds comprised of younger fans expected to attend the One Direction concert this Friday, Grand Boulevard will close from 13th Street to Truman Road at 6 p.m. (or earlier at the discretion of KCPD).The street closure will remain in place until following the concert.
Concert guests who will be dropped off and picked up for the concert should utilize the Oak Street Entrance located on the east side of Sprint Center. Following the show, all guests waiting to be picked up will be directed to Oak Street Entrance.
Signs are limited to one 18" x 24" sign per guest. The sign must be a normal poster with no foul language on it. It can't be on a stick or utilize glow sticks. All signs will be inspected and confiscated if deemed innapropriate.
